April 20 is the inaugural meeting of the La Crosse Public Library Chess Club at South. The club will accommodate up to 14 players and will run from 5-7 pm. Although it is targeted to adults, the club is open to all ages and skill levels.

3.14.15 Beginning Monday, March 16, we will implement a 100-item check-out per library card. Of those 100 items, 25 may be DVDs. We've made this change to encourage fairer use of our collections. For our super-duper power users, this limit is per card, not per family.

3.12.15   You are cordially invited to a celebration of all things Downton, on Saturday, March 14, 1-4 pm at Main. From 1-2, learn what life was like in La Crosse during the same time period as Downton Abbey, including home decor, mechanicals, and new inventions. Downton Fair is from 2-4 with dance lessons, cooking demonstrations, a fashion show and an old-timey photo booth. We would be delighted to see you in your Downton-period finery! Presented by the La Crosse County Historical Society and La Crosse Public Library Archives.
