Now through Tax Day, volunteers from the AARP will be at the La Crosse Public Library to help prepare federal and state returns for middle and low-income taxpayers, with special attention given to people ages 60 and over. This free community service is provided by appointment only. 

In 2016,  we checked out a total of 243,883 adult books, 225,317 child books, and 203,190 DVDs across our three La Crosse Public Library locations. View the complete list of our most popular titles of 2016 here.

Monday Mornings at Main
Lifelong Learning for Ages 50 and Better

We're happy to announce a new season of Monday Mornings at Main, February 6-May 1 from 9:30-11:00 AM.

Refreshments will be served at each program.

The La Crosse Public Library is helping to co-sponsor the 2017 Washburn Neighborhood Rain Barrel Painting Contest. The theme of this year's contest is, "The Changing Faces of Nature." All entries must function as a rain barrel and should be painted to celebrate the theme.

The Library is hiring a 20-hour week Library Assistant in the Circulation Department. We're looking for someone to provide outstanding customer service at all three locations. Full details on our Employment page.
