When searching the catalog, do you wonder why you see books owned by Black River Falls Public Library?  DVDs located in Coon Valley?  Audio books in Galesville?  If the answer is “yes”, read on.

Many libraries in western Wisconsin have agreed to list the materials they own in a common catalog.  We call this catalog WRLSWeb.

Using the WRLSWeb catalog you can make requests for many of these materials and have the materials delivered to the participating library of your choice.  When your request for a title is filled, you may find that it came from the library in another community.  Delivery of materials among the participating libraries is a service of Winding Rivers Library System.

(Note that most libraries have materials, such as reference books, that can’t be checked out and for which a request can’t be placed.  So you can’t borrow everything that you find in the catalog – but you can go to the library to use it.)
