Coloring isn't just for kids anymore! Due to the tremendous response we received to last week's National Coloring Book Day activity, we're starting a monthly coloring club just for adults. If you're interested in joining this club, please answer a few questions on this survey to let us know when and where you'd like to see the adult coloring club meet.
Not only is coloring a great way to socialize and express yourself creatively, research shows that it's also can have health benefits for adults, including reducing anxiety and lowering blood pressure. As Kathy, one of our reference librarians and coordinator of the adult coloring club says, "For adults, it helps them with stress. It gives them a moment of peace where they can sit there and just forget the day."
Be sure to check out this video from WKBT-News 8 about the adult coloring activity we hosted on August 2, 2017 in celebration of National Coloring Book Day. Thanks to everyone who participated in this program. We hope you'll join us back at the library for more adult coloring club activities.
