Introducing Music & Memory

Music & Memory is a personalized music therapy program designed to improve quality of life among those living with dementia by helping to reduce agitation, anxiety, and Alzheimer’s related sundowning, while increasing social engagement and memory recollection.

The La Crosse Public Library and the Aging and Disability Resource Center of Western Wisconsin are teaming up to provide this innovative program to La Crosse area residents living with Alzheimer’s and related dementia.

This program has already been successfully implemented in more than 3,200 care environments around the world, including here in La Crosse, but through this new library initiative it will also be available to the estimated 70-80% of people living with dementia in our community whom still live at home.

If you're interested in learning more about the Music & Memory program or want to sign up as a participant or volunteer, we invite you to join us at our kickoff event, this Saturday at the La Crosse Public Library.
