The La Crosse Public Library Archives staff surveyed libraries and historical societies about their collections of genealogical and local historical materials in the following counties: Buffalo, Jackson, Juneau, La Crosse, Monroe, Trempealeau & Vernon counties, Wisconsin; and Houston, Olmsted & Winona counties, Minnesota.

La Crosse Public Library provides this resource as a guide only. Most of the organizations listed here (both public and private) have their own research policies and fees that apply. Researchers will need to make contact with each repository separately.
