Make a Difference: Volunteer!
Teen volunteers play
an important role in the Youth Services department at La Crosse
Public Library by helping us with just
about everything, from stapling, sorting and stuffing to advising
staff on teen programs and materials for our collection. There
are a couple of ways that YOU can make a difference…
During the summer…
Do you
enjoy helping others? Do you like working with people,
especially children? Then please consider being a teen
volunteer at La Crosse Public Library this summer! We
will be accepting applications for teen volunteers to work
with the Youth Services staff for the 2008 Summer Library
Program. Teen volunteers assist with a variety of activities
from program sign-up to being that extra pair of hands at
our programs. Two informational/registration meetings
will be held in May: Wednesday, May 7 and May 21, both from
6-7 p.m. at the Main Library. Please plan on attending
ONE of these meetings if you would like to be a teen volunteer
this summer.
During the school
year…
Join us once a month
during the school year for our Teen Advisory Council, otherwise
known as TAC. Open to teens only, this group
meets to discuss books, brainstorm ideas for programs, help with
projects, buy books, and EAT. As always, everything is FREE.
