Mission & Vision
Our Mission
Discover, create, connect.
Our Vision
The La Crosse Public Library is the hub of our community, inspiring inclusion, learning, and connection.
Library History
Since its founding in 1888, the La Crosse Public Library has been a trusted institution of learning for the people of La Crosse and the wider Coulee Region. Dedicated to providing accessible materials, engaging programs, and inclusive services, the library cultivates a culture of discovery, creation, and connection for all. Our Main Street Library serves as a vibrant community hub, while the North Community Library extends our reach and impact across the city. Together, our staff work to deliver outstanding service, thoughtfully curated collections, and dynamic programming that reflects and supports the needs of our community.
