Weapons Policy
The La Crosse Public Library is committed to protecting the safety and welfare of library employees and visitors and recognizes its responsibility to lawfully regulate and manage library spaces.
Except for on-duty law enforcement officers, no individual is permitted to enter or remain in any La Crosse Public Library location or site while carrying, possessing, selling, distributing, displaying, or using a dangerous weapon as that term is defined in Wis. Stats. sec. 939.22(10)(link is external). Additionally, using or threatening the use of any other object in such a manner that it may be considered a weapon is also strictly prohibited.
Any person found to be carrying a weapon in violation of this policy will be suspended from library services for a period of up to one year.
