13 Reasons Why You Matter

Inspired by the hit Netflix series "13 Reasons Why," this program, sponsored by the La Crosse YMCA Teen Center and the La Crosse Public Library, will provide teens and their parents/caregivers with the opportunity to chat with local health professionals about such topics as bullying, sexual assault, suicide, and mental health. We'll discuss what the popular fiction series gets right, what it gets wrong, and how it relates to our own lives. Teens in grades 6-12 will meet in the Lower Level Auditorium for a group discussion and to create their own collection of positive affirmations. Adults will gather in the Children's Room for their own discussion aimed at the concerns of parents, caregivers, and teachers.
