What is Cryptocurrency? Why is it so popular? Will it be ‘The New Money’?  Join Dr. Peter Haried, Professor of Information Systems at the University of Wisconsin for Blockchain 101: Cryptocurrency and NFTs.  In his presentation Dr. Haried will introduce blockchain technology and discuss two of today’s most popular blockchain applications: Cryptocurrency and Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs).  The presentation will provide an introduction and guidance on how cryptocurrency and NFTs may impact our future.  Discussions on why and how someone would purchase cryptocurrency and NFTs will be provided.

Dr. Peter Haried Professor of Information Systems and Department Chair, joined the Information Systems Department at the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse in August 2008.  He earned his Ph.D at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee.  His research interests include project management, financial technology and the acceptance of emerging technologies.
