Join Richard Frost, Teri Wachuta, and Bob Wingate on a bus trip following the trail of the Black Hawk War, the last major Indian War east of the Mississippi River. 

Our first stop will be at the Genoa Fish and Wildlife Center in Genoa, where they have a wonderful exhibit on the Black Hawk War. Then we will follow the trail that Black Hawk and his band took before being caught at the Mississippi River at the Battle of Bad Axe.  Bob will also explain the geology of the river valley and ethnic settlement pattern in the Driftless Area. Lunch will be in Viroqua, followed by a scenic drive back to La Crosse. 

Depart from the Park and Ride at Valley View Mall located near Penney’s at 8:00 a.m. and return approximately at 4:00 p.m.
