Event Details
Part of celebrating Indigenous Peoples’ Day is learning and honoring the history of the Invader Period of the land we now recognize as Wisconsin.
Join us at an Indigenous Peoples’ Day kickoff event with author and historian Stephen Kantrowitz, and Director of the Ho-Chunk Nation Museum and Cultural Center Josie Lee, as they discuss Kantrowitz’s new book Citizens of a Stolen Land: A Ho-Chunk History of Nineteenth-Century United States.
This event will be held in the Auditorium of La Crosse Public Library's Main Branch. Light refreshments and snacks will be provided.
NOTE: You do not have to have read the book to attend.
This event is in partnership with the Ho-Chunk Nation Ni Tani Hocira (Three Rivers House) La Crosse Youth & Learning Center.
