On Wednesday, October 10, we'll be screening and discussing "Black Narcissus." Set in a convent high atop the Himalayas, this film is widely regarded for the use of lush and eerie cinematography to depict the yearning of its characters and the exotic danger of its setting. Legendary cinematographer Jack Cardiff won his only Oscar for his rich work on this classic film. (1947, NR, 101 minutes)
